I also think this is an excellent song and I'm very much looking forward to the new album.

Bit of a tune this.

Vans Vans Vans.

I'm getting a pair of these, but I don't know which colour. It's either the orange or the 'pigeon'.

I tried to find a pair yesterday but nowhere in Leicester had any left. So I bought a pair of these for the minute.

Musical Collaborations I would love to see.

1. Paloma Faith and Hudson Mohawke

2. Uffie and Sebastien Tellier

3. Smog and Cat Power and Lykke Li

I'll flesh these out with why another time. Right now I need some sleep.

The last decade.

I started aged 12.

The last year for me mainly involved finishing uni and going into the real world. The end of my first proper relationship and learning how to be single.

Graduated, got some great feedback for my final project which I think I needed because I felt like I'd been dragged through the shit a bit by my tutor. My university then chose one of my designs to represent the school of Art and Design on their christmas card which was a really big deal for me because I knew a lot of people who I thought it should have been.

Got a proper design job in the middle of a recession, which means I actually now draw pictures for a living. I also found out that if it hadn't have been for an artist who lived down the street I wouldn't have been allowed to go and do an art foundation course and wouldn't be where I am now. So thankyou for that.

But the last decade involved a whole load of work.

Got my first magazine cover (that I designed) and had designs produced by Topman. Ended the decade by Tesco putting in a 13,000 order for my designs too. Pretty amazing considering I got a D in Art at A-level (but to be fair to them I was a bit of a nightmare student). Here's to the next decade ey? Maybe I'll have my own company or something who knows?

Travelling home.

We stopped at the worlds shittest services and I had to buy some piss poor copy of GQ (the one with Simon Cowell on the cover looking like a piece of carefully molded shit).

On the way down I've ben playing with a camera app on my phone that works pretty well. Listened to Gold Panda - Dinosaur Jr - Arctic Monkeys - Julian Casablancas and Flying Lotus' discography. Wrote this while on some huge detour down a country lane.

Glasgae

I went into Glasgow yesterday afternoon to see my friend Lucy who I've not seen for about 4 years (according to her) we went to a restaurant which was pretty unaccomodating for us wheat free folk. She's a vegetarian too so my suggestion of a hearty dead chicken at nando's was quickly vetoed.

Once we'd eaten chatted and she pretty much had a nap we went for a wander. There was a pretty bright fairground where I took these photos although she amazingly came over all shy when I tried to take one of her (hence the ginger terrorist look). We eventually parted company after she'd managed to find my bus stop.

The day after.

We went to an amazing greasy spoon the day after right on the sea front. I think we were annoying all of the old people who were having christmas parties as they'd dressed the place up a bit.

It was an amazing old style greasy spoon where a cup of tea was 50p and breakfast was cheap as owt!

Then we went for a walk along the sea front from Hove to Brighton. It was pretty windy and rainy but it woke us up.

The whole weekend was great, it was great to see old friends and meet new ones. Brighton's a beautiful place and I'd move there at the drop of a hat if there were jobs. I can't wait to go back and explore it a bit more.

We went to a rather expensive pub.

Called the Seven Stars in Brighton that was alright but full of office Christmas parties.

I met a glasses buddy called Chloë and Laura had amazing hair as she'd been in some 1940's photoshoot during the day.

Not a fan of Christmas songs but this one's pretty damn good.

Mine and Tom's Romantic Walk

On my first day in Brighton Lizzie was a little busy making a hat so me and Tom went to the beach. It was nice and mild and very quiet. When we got there I found to my horror that my DSLR was totally knackered (it focuses and then turns off, any ideas?). We skimmed stones until we'd both pulled muscles in our shoulders like the neat guys we are.

More posts tomorrow as I'm too tired right now.
